364 Things got weird in the 80's dubs

Here is a mix that starts off with some solid gold classic tracks (not from the 80's), and then moves into weird 1980's "dub" territory, then back to some more standard fare dubs.  80s Dub in a loose sense of the term, as this is not reggae.  Mostly dub production techniques applied to 80's pop hits.  I love the Beat, or the English Beat as they're known this side of the Atlantic.  It surprises me that there aren't more dub tracks as I think their music lends itself quite well to the style.  This Ziggy Marley remix jumps out thanks to the inclusion of the most recognizable sample, "Genius of Love" by Tom Tom Club.  Bruce?  The Boss in Dub?  Nah, though I included it here as it fits the theme. Bananarama reminding people they sang about a cruel summer long before the Swifties picked up on it.  This one is a pretty good dub mix to be honest.  The Sugarcubes, sure not a big surprise here.  Modern English is another that tries to make it work, though I don't think it quite makes it.  Chapterhouse, ok I left the 80's for a moment because this fits in well and I do like the mix overall.  Massive Attack reminding us why their collaboration with Mad Professor was a highlight in their otherwise excellent discography.  Another track from the Beat, this given a much more modern and updated remix which I rather like.  Panda Bear, Sonic Boom and Adrian Sherwood taking us back to recent times on this solid track.  Prince Fatty paying homage to Kraftwerk.  Now this is where it gets weird(er), Venetian Snares dubbing up Black Sabbath.  Don't know anywhere else you'll hear Bananarama and Venetian Snares in the same mix, so I'll share a smug grin to that.  Twilight Circus because, yeah why not, I'm likely to include them in every dub mix that I make.   Blackfilm is here as I had just ordered a replacement CD when I was making this mix.  Jah Wobble and Laswell are always welcome in this style and help to shed that weird 80's stuff from earlier.   Future Pilot in a slightly edited form before having some whiplash and throwing back to the 80's for Boy George's solid track - also curious why there aren't more dub versions of the Culture Club, a missed opportunity in my opinion.
