Both my wife and I love some indie folk/alt country but we have different tastes. This is a mix that combines songs we both picked out. Those that know us well can easily guess which were her contributions and which were mine. And sure, there are a few we agree on. I made this mix for our camping trip last summer, and then we listened again on this year's trip and it totally holds up as a great road trip mix. Even the kids were singing along. Had to include at least one Patti Smith track because we saw the photography exhibit at the Selby Gardens last year which was just pure beauty; they played this song in what I have to say was intentional irony, in the middle of the cactus garden.

Very nice, Mooz. Quite a few (versions & artists) that I've not heard before. By coincidence, I've just posted a Richard Norris-themed post, including a link to The Order Of The 12, one of my favourite albums of the past year. And seguing their track into Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions? Perfection!
ReplyDeleteThank you, bet you'll enjoy part 2 of this as well then. As for Richard Norris, I only know a little of the Grid, the stuff he did with Psychic TV, a few tracks from Beyond The Wizards Sleeve, and this Order of the 12. I'm excited to check your post out and learn much more, must be happenstance.
