245 - Aesop Rock

I've heard Aesop Rock is the hip hop artist with the largest vocabulary, beating out GZA and Kool Keith.  I've been a fan ever since I picked up Float at the Anticon show.  The below mix is a bit heavy on "The Impossible Kid" and "Spirit World Field Guide" only because I think those are his best and most consistent albums.  I really wanted to include something from his project The Uncluded, but it didn't fit with the rest.  Be sure to check the videos, all his official ones are excellent, I also found some live versions, and the rest should all be the lyric videos because its just awe inspiring to follow along with his rhymes.

Because I love "The Impossible Kid" so much, here's a bonus find.  The full album stream and a fan synced it up to a stop motion recreation of the Shinning.

  1. Impossible Kid is a great record, I'm glad you included something from Malibu Ken too, I think that collaboration is one of his best. The stop motion Shining video is pretty weird!

    1. He's got so much to offer and unique to each release. They're all worth checking out, and yes that Malibu Ken one was a great surprise.
