A five mix overview of another longtime favorite of mine. I fell hard for the unique sound of Autechre when I purchased the Basscad EP when it first came out. That and the Tri Repetae++ double CD remain permanently in my desert island albums list, and yes I think I did end up including nearly every track from Tri Pepetae++ across these mixes, or most of them. They have such a distinct sound that developed over their career. Even the early days of WARP IDM, Autechre stood out from the crowd. The subsequent albums kept diverging further and further from anything that could ever be considered dance music. Eventually ending up doing collaborations with Hafler Trio show just how far they push boundaries of contemporary electronica.
