285 - punk ska and dub

Yes, I'll admit, I was know to skank on the dancefloor in my teen years.  Never went full rude boy, but I did enjoy a couple ska bands.  Hated most of the ska-punk scene, though I was designated driver for Skankin Pickle, Suicide Machines, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and Skavoovie and The Epitones shows.   The Citizen Fish show at the Mercury Cafe was legendary, I've never seen so many fights break out and chairs thrown.  I was honored to catch the Selecter and Skatalites in the 90s, those were highlights for me.  But as expected I couldn't make an all ska mix, so this delves quickly into reggae, dancehall and dub which are my preferred genres related to ska.  God I love that dub remix of "twist and crawl."  While I prefer the 808 State remix, it is fun hearing the original UB40 track.  Lastly, "Ghost Town" was my (and I assume many many others') official theme music for driving around town in the early days of the COVID lockdowns.
