Never a fan of straight forward top 40 music, I still enjoy a good pop hook from time to time.  Here's a selection of songs just on the outskirts of pop music, or weird bands with that one accessible track.  Others are just tracks I love and felt kept the flow of this mix going strong.

Episode 137 - Traditional Shoegazing

Always near and dear to my heart is shoegazing from the 90s.  My wife and I bonded over these bands.  Tracks like "Summertime Rolls" will forever evoke memories of laying in the thick grass amongst friends, watching clouds and airplanes go by, without a care in the world.  A very pleasant thought during these cold winter months.

Episode 136 - Modern Gospel

Continuing the theme from the last two posts, this time focusing on more recent and unexpected places to find religious themes.  While I don't seek out this particular style of music, I do have a lot of it.  In my opinion, the theme changed from suffering and salvation in the older gospel music, to more of a personal salvation or reprieve from drug addition that fuels these religious songs.
