Continuing the dub theme, here's another mixed bag.  Super excited for the brand new Pelican Daughters album and happy I could include one of the tracks here.  Thanks to https://higher-thansun.blogspot.com/ for the exclusive Orb track here.  Scientist dubbing up New Age Steppers, Rob Smith having his way with a Police cover band, Black Uhuru inviting Natty Dreadlocks over for dinner (My daughter's nickname is Natty Dreadlocks and she joked that this song is about her). 472 Lee Scratch Perry - Skanking With The Upsetters vol 2

This year's Record Store Day heralded the release of Lee 'Scratch' Perry & The Upsetters - Skanking With The Upsetters, a collection of his "skank" titled tracks.  I was thrilled when I heard this was coming out, only to be sadly disappointed when the only record store in my small town didn't receive any copies.  I came home, and diligently went through my library and found I could rebuild that tracklist with the files I already had.   In this effort, I found another 24 or so tracks with "Skank" in the title that are either from Lee Sratch Perry, The Upsetters, or from his productions.   Hence, I went forth and pulled this second volume together.  Spotify only had 16 of the 22 tracks.

471a In Dub vol 1

In music nothing excites me quite like a non-reggae artist releasing an album simply titled "In Dub."   Sometimes the idea is better than the execution.  I'm a sucker and will always check it out just in case there are one or two tracks that really stand out.  Sure a couple of these are loose interpretations of this theme.  I-LP-O in Dub, has that 'in dub' in the artist name, Beatundercontrol is already pretty much a dub group, Mark Nelson's outing is from "In Daylight dub."  On the second mix Pizzicato Five's EP is subtitled "Combinaison Spaciale EP: Pizzicato Five In Dub" and Jeremy Taylor was listed as "Miles Davis in Dub" when I originally downloaded it - which is not the correct name of the album.  Still, they all have that same theme and are quite enjoyable on their own. A few artists are on these mixes twice because they have more than one album titled as "in dub."

For those of us that enjoyed NØ's Sound Systember focused on sound systems & dub...
