468a Short Songs - snippits mix 1: Jazz and Dark Ambient

I have a folder that I store tracks when compiling other mixes where I put songs that are about a minute or less.  My original intention was to bring things back to how I'd make mixes in the 90's and include short soundbites from movies to add depth and humor to my other mixes.  I obviously forgot to do this with my last 400+ mixes, so this folder started bulging with several hundred short tracks.

Sure, there is a lot of dialogue pieces, though most are not from movies.  There are intros, outros, interludes, hidden tracks, bits and pieces, a few short tracks from audiobooks, and whatever else caught my attention while building my other mixes.  Yeah, there are one or two "edits" in there, like "Henry" from Pigface or "Tricks N Treats" from Kid Koala.  Yes, I did throw one of my own short tracks in here as well, it was from a remix project I abandoned where I created my own vocal sample of a John Denver tune.

There is certainly something in here for everyone as this covers just about every style and perfect for those with short attention spans.  Despite the very long track lists on these two mixes, they're both under an hour each.

465 Cartoons!

I've always loved cartoons and how zany they can be.  Here I've picked some of my favorite musical moments from cartoons: theme songs, character motifs, tributes, covers, background music, and snippits.  This one has it all, and hopefully a lighthearted enjoyable ride for the listener.  I wanted to add some tracks from Teen Titans GO! but sadly I don't have any of those albums, and wasn't up for the task of ripping off YouTube.  I labeled as best as I could, some of these are more library music style and hard to track down the actual composer.  Honestly, it was hearing "Be Careful What You Eat" and Mojo Jojo covering Tears for Fears that really prompted me to build this mix as I really wanted to use those tracks somewhere.

467 Silly Punk Songs

 

A good friend of mine has the Vandals playing every time I visit her house.  That made me want to pull together some silly and fun punk songs.  I didn't put a whole lot of time and research into this, as there is a great wealth of ridiculous punk songs out there.  I know, Dead Milkmen aren't punk, and Scatterbrain are more on the metal side, and Lard is closer to Ministry than anything else Jello has done - still they all fit the theme here.  A quick aside, as I searched for images of "Silly Punk," everything that came up was pictures of Daft Punk, which I found quite hilarious.
